Liege waffles

Nothing can warm a heart as the soft and tender taste of waffles just out of the grill.


ingredients

10 waffles

0,75 cups milk (slightly warm)

2 tsp yeast

2 tsp sugar

2 eggs

10 tsp butter (melted)

3,5 cups flour

1 tsp salt

sugar in large crystals

Toppings: fruits, honey, maple syrup or everything at the same time


How to prepare

  1. Put the warm milk in a bowl and add the yeast and the sugar. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the yeast starts making a reaction.

  2. Add the eggs and the melted butter and whisk together.

  3. Add 3 cups flour and some salt to the mixture.

  4. Mix everything with a kitchen mixer (or if you have one of the fancy kitchen robots even better).

  5. Let it sit for about 30 min covered with a towel.

  6. Once the dough gained volume, add the large sugar crystals.

  7. Divide into 10 equal balls.

  8. On a preheated waffle grill lay the dough balls and cook until crispy on the outside.
